| Operational Metric | Load A | Load B | Load C |
|---|
1. Fixed Cost Per Mile Allocation: $\text{Fixed CPM} = \frac{\text{Monthly Fixed Expenses}}{\text{Expected Monthly Miles}}$. Fixed costs (truck payment, insurance, plates, ELD) are allocated proportionally to the trip's total miles ($M_{\text{total}} = \text{Loaded} + \text{Deadhead}$).
2. Fuel Consumption & Cost: $\text{Gallons} = \frac{M_{\text{total}}}{\text{Truck MPG}}$. $\text{Fuel Cost} = \text{Gallons} \times \text{Effective Diesel Price}$.
3. Business Fees: Dispatch and factoring fees are calculated as direct percentages of Offered Gross Revenue.
4. Total Operating Cost: $\text{Total Cost} = \text{Fixed Allocation} + \text{Fuel} + \text{Maintenance} + \text{Tires} + \text{Trip Expenses (Tolls/Lumper)} + \text{Percentage Fees}$.
5. Break-Even Revenue Formula: To account for percentage business fees (e.g. dispatch + factoring) that increase as gross revenue rises, break-even gross revenue is solved algebraically: $\text{Rev}_{\text{be}} = \frac{\text{Direct Costs}}{1 - \text{Total Percentage Fee Rate}}$.
